About This Role
As a Pyrolyzer Operator, you will be part of the Field Operations team and report directly to the Field Operations Lead. You will operate bio-oil producing systems, perform maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the smooth running of operations. This position offers hands-on work in an exciting, fast-paced environment, contributing directly to the company’s fight against climate change.
Responsibilities
- Operate the pyrolyzer and troubleshoot any downtime, documenting lessons learned to improve system reliability.
- Perform routine maintenance on the pyrolyzer and other associated equipment, collaborating with vendors when needed.
- Provide valuable operational insights when troubleshooting design and operational challenges.
- Ensure safety by following all safety instructions, maintaining a clean job site, and suggesting improvements to safety protocols.
- Use machinery and powered equipment (e.g., forklift, telehandler, personnel baskets) when necessary.
- Record data on operations for measurement, reporting, and verification to support customers.
- Travel to remote job sites for up to two weeks at a time as required.
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of experience with heavy machinery and equipment, or a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including potential overnight shifts.
- Experience operating forklifts, telehandlers, and other agricultural implements is a plus.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, and crawl in tight spaces.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for prolonged periods.
- Proactive, professional, and a “can-do” attitude.
- Passionate about contributing to climate change solutions and growing with the company.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen.
