Internship Program Overview
- Start Date: May 12th or June 16th, 2025 (depending on academic calendars)
- Duration: 10-12 weeks
- Work Schedule: Standard Mon-Fri
- Location: On-site at one of the four locations (Frederick, MD; Richmond, VA; Grand Island, NY; Pittsburgh, PA)

Responsibilities
As a Data Science Intern at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you’ll work on strategic projects related to data science and business improvement:
- Partner with leadership to identify areas for efficiency improvement.
- Review processes and proactively recommend opportunities for improvement.
- Develop tools and models to improve tracking and efficiency.
- Learn and apply continuous improvement methodologies like PPI, Six Sigma, and others.
- Collaborate across the IT function, working on projects related to Global Information Security, Digital Technology & Delivery, Enterprise Application Systems, and more.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate student (rising senior) pursuing a degree in Information Technology or related field, graduating between December 2025 and June 2026.
- No work experience required; previous internships in related fields are a plus.
- Proven track record of results demonstrating integrity, innovation, and involvement.
- Ability to champion change, get results, and navigate ambiguity.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with emotional intelligence.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship for a visa (current or future).
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay: $21.50 – $28.75, based on location.
